Create the ShowDesktop Icon

1.Open the Notepad, type the following text on individual lines:
[Shell]
Command=2
IconFile=explorer.exe,3
[Taskbar]
Command=ToggleDesktop

2. Save the file to your desktop as Show Desktop.scf.

Note: The file name should be Show Desktop.scf.

3. Move the file to the correct folder in the user profile to appear in the Quick Launch toolbar.
e.g:
C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch
